Oliver Streiter studied psychology in Utrecht, psycholinguistics at the EHESS in Paris, computational linguistics at the University Paris VII, Jussieu and the history of linguistics at the university of Palermo. He completed a PhD at the Saarland University in translation science with a focus on machine translation and computational linguistics. After various research positions in Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow (corpus-based machine translations), the Academia Sinica in Taipei (corpus-based parsing) and the European Academy in Bozen/Bolzano (corpus-based/computational terminology), he moved to Kaohsiung in 2004 and started the thakbong project with Yoann Goudin in 2007.
The Thakbong project is an open-ended project, which in its current stage can best be described as a digital endeavor to document, archive and research epigraphy in the Taiwan Strait and beyond. Read more ...
